Community Outreach

Helping design, plant and maintain native habitats is just one way we give back to our communities. We're pleased to further our partnerships with our clients by supporting activities in trail and park restoration, along with supporting the educational and professional organizations that are an important part of a thriving community.

HRS has donated thousands of staff hours along with providing native plants, equipment, and trail building materials for our community partners for their restoration projects.  For example, we have worked with the City of Carlsbad staff and their volunteers for several years on the Citywide Trails Program and the Veteran’s Memorial Park trails.

The unused plots in our native plant nursery have been used to grow produce, resulting in 2,350 pounds of organic vegetables donated in 2012 to Fresh Foods for Families, a local charity.

HRS contributes to the local community through various sponsorships, fundraisers and by participating in civic and educational activities.  Some of these include the San Diego Chapter of Habitat for Humanity and the San Diego Children’s Hospital/Ronald McDonald House.
